Hyderabad, Sept.1 (Hydnow): Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday emphasized on the need for creating safe schooling conditions for children at schools during the pandemic.

The Governor visited the Raj Bhavan High School, here, and interacted with the students on the re-opening day of the educational institutions in the State.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said it is the responsibility of the teachers, management, and the administration to take care of the safety of the students attending the school during the pandemic
conditions.

Parents too have an important role in ensuring safe conditions and protect the children from the COVID-19 pandemic. “I am happy that children are well aware of the COVID-19 preventive norms. They are wearing the masks properly unlike many elders, who ignore to wear mask properly. The students are also aware about frequently washing and sanitizing their hands, and maintaining physical distance,” she added.

The Governor was elated to find the children in a happy and enthusiastic mood in coming back to the school. She appreciated the parents for courageously sending their children to the school. The onus is on the teachers and the administration to create safe schooling conditions for the children.

“As is being suggested by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), we have to live with the pandemic conditions for some more time. We have to continue the physical classes by taking strict preventive measures and motivating the students to diligently adhere to the COVID-appropriate behavior,” she added.

The Governor hoped that soon the COVID vaccine for children would also be rolled out to give protection to the children.

“As the Governor, as a parent, and as a doctor, I am concerned about the safety of the children and we all must ensure the safe schooling conditions for them,” she added. (Hydnow)
