Hyderabad, Sept 5 (Hydnow): GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi inspected low-lying areas in the city due to heavy rainfall. She assured the residents that all the precautionary measures would be taken.
The mayor visited the low-lying areas of Fateh Nagar, Ayodhya Nagar, and Ganesh Nagar, She instructed officials to immediately remove water from flooded areas and provide relief to affected residents. The Mayor directed the zonal commissioner to address the flooding near the Fateh Nagar Railway underpass. She also instructed the VDM director to dispatch DRF teams to remove the water.
At Ayodhya Nagar and Ganesh Nagar, the Mayor accompanied by MLA KP Vivekananda inspected the flood-prone areas and took stock of the situation. She assured residents that the GHMC would provide them with all necessary relief.
The Mayor also visited a relief center in Goshamahal, Chudi Bazar, where 42 individuals from 16 families who were displaced due to the flooding have been accommodated. She inquired about the facilities being provided to the victims and assured them that they would be provided with all necessary assistance.
The Mayor urged residents to remain vigilant and to only venture out for essential purposes in view of the heavy rains. She also advised them to contact the GHMC helpline f they need any assistance. (Hydnow)
