Inauguration to be low key affair, says Mayor
Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao and Health Minister Eatala Rajender will inaugurate 45 Basthi Dawakhanas in the city on Friday, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Wednesday said.
Ministers Md Mahmood Ali, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Ch Malla Reddy and other prominent leaders will also participate in the inaugural function.
Rammohan said that given the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown, the inauguration of the Basthi Dawakhanas will be a low key affair. The healthcare facilities will be thrown open in the presence of minimal staff and patients by KTR.
The Mayor also pointed out that Basthi Dawakhanas would go a long way in reducing the patient load at tertiary teaching hospitals in the city including Gandhi Hospital, Osmania General Hospital, Fever Hospital, Chest Hospital and Niloufer Hospital. Basic medical needs will be provided at Basthi Dawakhanas while specialty care will be provided at the tertiary care facilities, he added.
