Farmers’ Hold Maha Dharna At Armoor

Hyderabad, Nov.4 (Hydnow): The farmers of undivided Nizamabad district today held a Maha Dharna program demanding a minimum support price of ₹2500 per quintal to premium variety of rice from the state government. The dharna was organised by congress party in support of the farmers at Mamidipally cross roads of Armoor town. The farmers from across the district participated in the dharna program.

Speaking on the occasion, they alleged that the state government was ignoring their demands to provide the minimum support price. They made it clear that they cultivated the premium variety of rice on the advise of the state government. They said that they didn’t get expected amount of harvest due to pest problem and that they were also not in a position to receive bonus due to the same. The farmers have also demanded the state to give clarity over providing the minimum support price to turmeric crop. (Hydnow)
