Shamshabad/Hyderabad, Jan 11 (Hydnow): What was expected is becoming true. It was determined that they were marijuana-laced chocolates.  The students of Kothur Government School are behaving strangely after buying and eating chocolates from pan shops near the school

After the teachers informed the police, the case of cannabis chocolates came to light.  Along with the strange behavior of the students, the police confirmed that the chocolates that were making them intoxicated were laced with marijuana.  

Shamshabad DCP Narayana Reddy giving the details said on Tuesday evening, Shamshabad SOT and Kothur police conducted joint raids at Pan Dabba and three other grocery stores near the government school.  In these raids, 42 boxes of chocolates named ‘Charmi Nor Gold Munaka’ weighing 8 kg were seized.  It is said that the value of these will be Rs. 1.30 lakhs.  three people who were selling chocolates were arrested and sent to remand.

Dhirendra Bahera (33) from the Jaspur district of Odisha came to work as a laborer in industries in Kothur some time ago.  With the desire to earn more money, Somnath Behre (33) from the same state along with Surymani Sahu (35) and another absconding person brought ganja chocolates from Odisha and started selling them locally.  A pan shop has been set up near the government school and the students have slowly made it a habit.

Besides, some grocery stores nearby are also selling them to workers and college students.  Each chocolate is priced at Rs. 20 to Rs. 30.  The place of manufacture of chocolates is in the name of AM-Pharma at Magarwara Nehru Bagh, Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh.  On the top of the chocolates, there is the name Charmi Nor Gold Munakka in Hindi characters. DCP disclosed that a deep investigation is going on.

It was initially found that cannabis was mixed with chocolate flavor and some sugar and jaggery were mixed with chocolate flavor.  DCP requested that anyone selling such chocolates should inform the police.
