Hyderabad, Dec.29 (Hydnow): Excise and Tourism Minister, V Srinivas Goud today favoured a hassle free mechanism for offering exgratia to toddy tappers if become disabled permanently or partly by falling from Toddy trees while tapping the liquid.
He sought a report in a week on Neera and its products by taking necessary steps of tenders and arrangements.
At a meeting here on the excise wing with chief secretary Somesh Kumar and other top officials he asked for a report that paves way for providing financial aid to kin of Toddy tappers in the state. There are complaints of delay in giving exgratia to family members despite repeated appeals. We need to have a simple and easy process for offering financial support to the injured Gouda in the state . This will add to the woes of Gouda community who are relying on toddy tapping business he said.
The minister said that the government has to offer financial aid in a timely manner. Srinivas Goud has asked to shift Neera plant near Nandana Vanam near Yadadri. Take steps for completing tenders for the same and ensure Neera made available to The minister also agreed to give promotions, and transfers in the excise department. He asked the officials to take steps for the transfers and promotions. (Hydnow)
