EFLU Vice-Chancellor Prof. E. Suresh Kumar on Friday inspected the university campus to check if the workplaces are sanitized regularly and hand sanitizers are available at convenient places.
Before entering the camps, Prof. Kumar underwent the thermal scanning at the main entrance.
The VC enquired with the University Health Centre staff and security personnel at the main entrance on the implementation of thermal screening and ensuring wearing of face masks by the employees attending duties.
The EFLU said it is firmly implementing the recommended measures and guidelines to contain Covid-19. The university has adopted new guidelines for its teaching, non-teaching staff, and also the outsourced employees.
According to the new instructions, officers equivalent or above the rank of Deputy Registrar have been attending duties starting May 11. The heads of various administrative departments have prepared roster wherein 33 per cent of the non-teaching staff (regular) work from the office on all working days while 50 per cent of the outsourced staff and consultants have been attending for duties every alternate day.
The remaining staff (regular and outsourced) have been working from home and will ensure their presence in the office as and when required. Students and visitors are not allowed into the campus until further orders to ensure their safety in view of the Covid-19, it added.
