Delhi/Hyderabad, April 17 (Hydnow): Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of Delhi former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in Delhi Liquor Scam till May 1, the Court also extended Arun Pillai’s custody also till May 1. The CBI and ED officials are interrogating them separately.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Manish Sisodia on February 26, alleging corruption in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Liquor Policy (Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22). He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case. Since then he has been in Tihar Jail.
ED will soon file another chargesheet in the Delhi Liquor case. The additional charge sheet will be filed against Manish Sisodia, Arun Ramachandra Pillai, and Amandeep Dhal. already filed one main and 2 additional chargesheets. In the third additional charge sheet, Manish Sisodia, Ramachandran Pillai, and Amandeep Dal will be charged.
Yesterday, AAP leader Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was questioned by CBI officials regarding the same case. CBI officials have questioned Kejriwal under 161 CrPC. He was questioned as a witness. In the Delhi Liquor Scam, witnesses and accused were questioned based on the information given. Answers were taken verbally from Kejriwal. Irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Liquor Policy, and raising commission rates were questioned. The CBI raised questions about Kejriwal’s role as Chief Minister, their Rs. 100 crore donations, and his relationship with the accused including Vijay Nair. The CBI questioned the Cabinet’s approval of the decisions taken by the group of ministers including Sisodia and the relationship with the South Group. Based on the statements given by the Excise Department officials, Kejriwal was questioned.
