Hyderabad, Oct.3 (Hydnow): Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) has taken a major step towards providing employment opportunities to youth with computer literacy. The Association which has been entrusted to carry out the seventh economy survey in Telangana will deploy enumerators to carry out survey and set target to reach one million household in Hyderabad as part of the massive exercise. TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala, Common Services Centres (CSC) Vice-President and Telangana & AP head Rajakishore unveiled the poster for 1 million surveys and launched the survey accordingly.
As part of the digital literacy initiative, TITA has been carrying out various drives in Telangana. It has transformed Basara and other villages into digital villages. The Association has tied up with CSC to carry out the 7th Economic Survey initiated by the Central Government in the GHMC limits and will reach 1 million households for data collection. For the first time, the Economic Survey will be carried out in digital format through a mobile application.
Some 5,000 youth will be employed by Digithon, the digital entity of TITA to carry out the survey in association with the CSC. The month-long survey will see volunteers reaching out to 10 lakh households to collect relevant data in the GHMC area. About 573 investigator units will be formed and every unit will have 10 volunteers. Some 5000-6000 enumerators will be required for the massive exercise.
Individuals having an SSC qualification and owning a smartphone are eligible to be part of the drive. Those interested to work as enumerators should register themselves at bit.ly/censussurvey and need to take a basic test. Those qualifying the test will be provided ID cards and relevant documents. The enumerators will also get the opportunity to take part in future digital surveys.
Speaking on the occasion, TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala said that the Association takes pride in having been part of the Central Government’s Economy Survey through CSC. He said that the survey was yet another achievement for Digithon in its strive to promote digital literacy. He said that the survey will provide more such opportunities to enumerators in future also and urged enthusiasts to be part of this initiative. CSC Hyderabad District Manager Sowmya will supervise the survey.
