Amaravathi/Hyderabad, May 15 (Hydnow): The Election Commission of India (ECI) has become serious about the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh becoming a battleground.
The Election Commission has expressed anger over the various incidents of violence that took place in the state after the elections.
Notices have been issued to the AP Chief Secretary and Director General of Police on these incidents. The Election Commissioner ordered Delhi to explain Delhi.
After the elections in AP on Monday, May 13, violent incidents took place in Palnadu, Tirupati, Guntur, and Anantapur districts. YCP and TDP factions attacked each other.
They beat each other brutally with sticks, knives, and iron rods. Due to this, there was a situation of extreme tension.
Police are heavily deployed in the troubled areas where violent incidents are taking place and trying to improve the situation. Several TDP and YSRCP leaders were house-arrested and not allowed to come out.
Security has been increased for some other leaders, Section 144 has been imposed by the police in areas like Palnadu, Macherla and Jammalamadugu. At every step in these areas, the police are deployed and the vehicles are being searched. (Hydnow)
