Hyderabad, Sept.10 (Hydnow): State Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today said that the credit to change tribal Thandas of the state into village Panchayats went to CM KCR. He said that Thandas were turned into villages to fulfill the dreams of the tribal people of the state and allow them to rule themselves. He said that the state government was also giving adequate amount of funds to the local bodies for their empowerment. He made these remarks while replying to questions raised by the members of the state assembly during question hour in the ongoing monsoon session of the house. The questions were posed by MLAs like Bapurao Rathod, Ramavath Ravindra Kumar, Haripriya Naik, Banoth Sankar Naik.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the CM was trying to develop the thandas in a more aggressive manner. He said that the state had got 4383 more gram Panchayats besides the existing 12751 gram panchayats. He said that of the newly created village Panchayat, 1177 village Panchayats has 100 percent ST population and 650 were formed in the areas where the population of the SCs is more. He said that the state government was releasing ₹339 crore to all the village Panchayats of the state every month and added that they had so far released ₹2373 crores to the villages from September 2019 to March 2020. He said that the state government was allotting ₹1670 as per capita allocation to the villages. (Hydnow)
