Hyderabad, Aug.21 (Hydnow): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy reiterated that Congress party was the only alternate to TRS and there was no scope for BJP’s growth in Telangana State.
Addressing a meeting of Congress workers in Devarkonda Assembly constituency on Wednesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the BJP Government did nothing for Telangana State in the last five years.
It did not even fulfill the promises made to Telangana by the previous Congress-led UPA Government in the AP Reorganisation Act like establishment of a Railway Coach Factory in Kazipet, Steel Plant at Bayyaram or Tribal University. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Government always neglected Telangana in Union Budgets and other Central schemes. He alleged that the BJP Govt was not interested in the growth of Telangana and welfare of its people.
Reddy also slammed the TRS Government and alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao did not fulfill a single major electoral promise. Instead, he said Telangana was pushed into huge debts and all sections of the society were made to suffer. He alleged that reservations were not being implemented for Tribal people by the TRS Government. He said not a single project has been completed in the State in the last five years. He challenged KCR to show a single project which TRS Government has completed in the last five years.
The TPCC Chief expressed confidence that the Congress party would bounce back to power in 2023 Assembly elections. He directed the Congress party members to work hard to strengthen the party at the grass root level. He also asked them not to worry about the intimidating tactics being adopted by the TRS and BJP Government against the Congress party and its members.
The meeting was also addressed by former CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, former MLA Balu Naik and other leaders.(Hydnow)
