Congress, BJP employ double standard on GO No 203 of AP: TRS

TRS State Secretary Chada Kishan Reddy said both Congress and BJP were adopting double standard on AP government’s plans to divert Krishna water from Srisailam project.

Speaking after distributing CMRF (Chief Minister Relief Fund) cheques to beneficiaries at his residence here, Kishan Reddy said that GO(Government Order) No 203 that was issued by the AP government was detrimental to the interests of Telangana State.

“Congress leaders from Telangana including (now) TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and K Jana Reddy, who were Ministers in the late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy-led government, remained silent when the project capacity was increased in 2009,” he said, and wondered why these leaders from Nalgonda also did not utter a single word against the construction of Pulichinthala project.

They did not open their mouth when the then Chief Minister Rajasekhar Reddy decreased diameter of SLBC project from 13.5 meters to 9 metres, he pointed out, and said the Congress had no moral right to criticise the TRS government on any subject particularly irrigation.

He said the BJP leaders from Telangana should pursue the Centre to ensure that there is no injustice to Telangana State in river water sharing instead of making a hue and cry for political mileage. “The TRS government will protect the interests of the State at any cost,” he asserted.
