Hyderabad, Aug.2 (Hydnow): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today criticized the Centre for opposing Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Government for ‘Dadagiri’ on the Krishna River water row and creating problems.

KCR expressed serious displeasure that the Centre was opposing the state of Telangana with regard to irrigation projects and power generation.

KCR took exception his AP counterpart YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for doing ‘Dadagiri’ on irrigation projects. The Telangana opposed Pothireddypadu and Rayalaseema projects for illegal construction. The Centre as well as the Krishna Board have asked the AP government to stop these projects.

His remarks get importance as the projects and power generation were opposed by the Centre at the behest of the Andhra Pradesh government. The Centre reacting on the complaint by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the Telangana state to stop illegal projects of irrigation and power generation at Srisailam project. The government generated power and asked the AP state to do so at Srisaialam recently and wrote a letter to the Centre in this regard.

However the centre has expressed displeasure at the two states for not complying with the norms on the irrigation projects. K Chandrasekhar Rao alleged that the Centre was opposing the state while the AP state is trying to dominate.

The Centre finally said that the two states should follow a team of officials will monitor Krishna and Godavari water boards for allocation and distribution of the waters. To this Telangana and AP opposed and said to fight legally.

KCR said that despite opposition from the Centre and the AP, Telangana will get its share of waters from Krishna. The fight is on and the Centre has slammed both the states for fighting on water row.

He participated at a program in Halia and announced to give Rs 150 cr for development of Nagarjuna Sagar segment. Minister Jagadish Reddy, Sukhender Reddy, MLA Bhagath and others were present.

The chief minister hit out at the Centre for opposing its stance on irrigation projects and power generation. (Hydnow)
