Hyderabad, Oct.6 (Hydnow): The Centre and Apex council will decide on the water allocation amicably among two Telugu states, Union minister Gajendra Shekhawat said today.
He was talking to press persons after chairing the apex council meeting in delhi with river boards officials and others and two Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and YS Jagan mohan Reddy who gave their version of controversial projects by both states.
On four agenda items we discussed widely on the just allocation usage of waters. Krishna board to be shifted to to Vijayawada from Hyderabad and the council to decide on Godavari board he said.
KCR agreed to withdraw a supreme court case on the water issue and we will go as per legal norms. The centre will decide the powers and purview of the boards which is final he said. The water row to be resolved through frequent meetings he said.
He asked the two Telugu states to follow council and the centre to get rightful share of waters. The issue to be addressed soon to ensure justice to two states. (Hydnow)
