The Delegation of Central Waqf Council which is on 4 day visit to Telangana State called on Home Minister Mohammed Muhammad Mahmood Ali, at his office at Lakdikapul, Hyderabad.
The delegation had discussed on the protection and development of Waqf properties in Telangana State. Speaking to the Delegation, Home Minister said that for the last seven years, the Telangana government has been making vigorous efforts to protect waqf properties and clear illegal encroachments that occurred prior to formation of Telangana State. After formation of Telangana, various steps have been taken for prevention of illegal trespassing/encroachment of Wakf properties, Home Minister Said.
Mahmood Ali also said that Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao is very particular about safeguarding the Wakf properties and initiated various measures for their protection and development. The Home Minister appealed to the Central Waqf Board members to provide the Telangana State Waqf Board with a sufficient budget from the Central Waqf Council as the State Waqf Board facing dearth of funds. Home Minister further said that he will make efforts to meet the Union Minister for Minority Welfare Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in this context. Home Minister said that the members of the Central Waqf Board assured him of doing their best and bring it to the notice of the Union Ministry of Minority Welfare.
