Bihar cabinet expansion: Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, increased the size of his cabinet on Tuesday, just days after taking the oath of office for the seventh time. Tejashwi Yadav, the head of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and a longtime foe, joined him and took over as his deputy.

Based on the 243 members of the legislature, the Bihar government has place for 36 ministers, and 31 of them were sworn in today. With 11 coming from Nitish Kumar’s JDU, two from the Congress, and one from the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) of former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, more than half of these came from the RJD. Independent lawmaker makes up the 31st position in the cabinet.

After Nitish Kumar left the coalition and joined the Mahagathbandhan, the BJP-JDU administration in Bihar was overthrown this month.

The distribution of the portfolios has already occurred shortly after the swearing-in. Nitish Kumar, the chief minister, has retained the home department; Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister; Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, the finance department; and Tej Pratap Yadav, the head of the RJD, as the minister of the environment, forests, and climate change.

RJD politician Tej Pratap Yadav will be the Minister of Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change in Bihar’s Cabinet expansion. Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav will be given responsibility for the health department, and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary will be given responsibility for the finance department.

Tej Pratap Yadav

Nitish-Tejashwi’s cabinet has expanded. 31 ministers of the Grand Alliance took oath today. After this the division of departments has also been done, Tej Pratap Yadav’s stature has decreased this time. They have only one ministry. He held the health ministry in the previous government of the Grand Alliance. This time this ministry has been kept by the Deputy Chief Minister and his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav.

Alok Mehta

He is the third time MLA from Ujiarpur in Samastipur. He is also a former minister and former MP. Lalu- Tejashwi is considered close to both.

Ramanand Yadav

RJD MLA from Fatuha in Patna district. Apart from being close to Lalu Yadav, he is also close to Tejashwi. Ramanand Yadav has been a professor.

Surendra Prasad Yadav

Sixth time MLA from RJD from Belaganj in Gaya district. Very close to Lalu Yadav.

Lalit Kumar Yadav

He is an MLA from Darbhanga Rural. He has won 6 consecutive times since 1995. He is considered close to Lalu Yadav.

Chanda Shekhar

Became MLA for the fourth time from Madhepura. He is considered close to Lalu Yadav.

Kumar Sarvajeet

He is the third time MLA from Bodh Gaya in Gaya district. Considered close to Tejashwi Yadav. In the past, he had also become an MLA on LJP ticket.

Samir Kumar Mahaseth

This is the third time MLA from Madhubani. He is also close to Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi.

Chandrashekhar

Became MLA for the fourth time from Madhepura. He is considered close to Lalu Yadav.

Jitendra Kumar Rai

Became MLA for the fourth time from Madhepura. He is considered close to Lalu Yadav.

Anita Devi

She is an MLA from Rohtas’s Nokha. She is an MLA for the third time in a row. She was also a minister in the previous Grand Alliance government and comes from Nonia community in the backward caste.

Sudhakar Singh

He is the RJD MLA from Ramgarh in Kaimur district. He is the son of RJD state president Jagdanand Singh. Sudhakar Singh comes from Rajput fraternity.

Israel Mansuri

He is an MLA from Kanti of Muzaffarpur. Became MLA from RJD for the first time. Close to Jasvi.

Surendra Ram

RJD MLA from Samastipur. Considered close to Tejashwi Yadav. Minority face of the party.

Kartikeya Singh

Come from Mokama area. For the first time, MLCs have been made from RJD quota. Anant Singh and Tejashwi are close to Yadav.

Shahnawaz Alam

First time MLA from Jokihat in Araria was elected from AIMIM. Changed sides and joined RJD. Tejashwi is close to Yadav.

Shamim Ahmed

Araria’s Narkatia is an MLA from the Legislative Assembly. Considered close to Tejashwi Yadav.

Vijay Kumar Choudhary

He has been a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly since 1982, and is currently serving as the Cabinet Minister for Finance, Commercial Taxes and Parliamentary Affairs ministries in the Government of Bihar.

Bijendra Yadav

he is a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, as well as the state’s Cabinet Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He has been an incumbent representative for Supaul since 1990.

Ashok Choudhary

He is from Barbigha Sheikhpura in Bihar, India. He has been a Member of the Bihar Legislative Council since 2014. Since June 2019, he is the Cabinet Minister for the Building Construction Department in the government led by Nitish Kumar.

Shravan Kumar

He is the Minister of Rural Development and Parliamentary Affairs in the Bihar Cabinet under Nitish Kumar. 

Leshi Singh

Leshi Singh is an Indian Politician from JDU and senior member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Dhamdaha seat in Bihar.

Madan Sahni

He has been elected thrice to the legislative assembly and he represents Bahadurpur. He has also represented Gaura Bauram constituency.

He was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from Valmiki Nagar, Bihar in the 2020 Bypoll of Valmiki Nagar as member of the Janata Dal.

Mohd Zama Khan

He is a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly. He won from Chainpur on a Bahujan Samaj Party ticket by the Margin of nearly 35,000 votes in 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election.

Jayant Raj

He is minister of Rural Work in the Government of Bihar. In the 2020 election, he defeated Jitendra Singh of the Indian National Congress.

Afaque Alam

He is a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He won from Kasba, Purnia in the Feb 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election. He is the current deputy leader of Indian National Congress in Bihar Legislative Assembly.

Murari Gautam

Murari Prasad Gautam is an INC candidate in Bihar Assembly Elections 2020, contesting from Chenari seat. His total declared assets are Rs 17.7 lakh, which includes Rs 4.2 lakh movable assets and Rs 13.5 lakh immovable assets.

Santosh Kumar Suman

He is currently Minister of Minor Irrigation and SC/ST Welfare in Government of Bihar and a member of the Bihar Legislative Council from Hindustani Awam Morcha.

Independent:

Sumit Kumar Singh

Sumit Kumar Singh .is currently an independent MLA from Chakai Vidhan Sabha of Jamui district of Bihar and Minister of Science and Technology Department, in the cabinet of the Government of Bihar. He is the only independent MLA from Bihar.
