Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 9 (Hydnow): Former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao has been awarded Bharat Ratna by the Central government.

The Center announced the Bharat Ratna Awards to PV Narasimha Rao and two others, today, it includes former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh and Agronomist MS Swaminathan.
Bharat Ratna awards have been announced for five people this time. This is the first time that five Bharat Ratna awards have been given in one year.
PV Narasimha Rao’s full name is Pamulaparthi Venkata Narasimha Rao, he was the first Telugu person to become the Prime Minister of India from 1991 to 1996.
