Hyderabad: Continuing the crackdown on organized begging gangs operating in the City, Taskforce sleuths from Hyderabad’s West Zone caught V Surya Prakash, who was running a begging gang by hiring minor boys.
The boys hired by Surya Prakash used to collect money in boxes that were given to them in locked condition. The boxes also had QR codes to pay them online. Each of the five boys was paid Rs 50 per day.
Inquiries revealed that he is earning around Rs 2,000 per day by making the boys beg around Film Nagar Bus stops and nearby shopping areas.
It was also found that he lured the boys, who belong to neighboring localities, into the trade without the knowledge of their parents.
A photographer by profession, he quit it and started this business to make quick and easy money, said Taskforce sleuths. Three boxes with QR codes pasted on them, a mobile phone, and Rs 640 cash was seized from them.
