Hyderabad, Sept.9 (Hydnow): As the Ganesh festival is to begin on September 10, the High Court today gave instructions to put more curbs on the public movement to check the corona virus spread. The High Court said that the Ganesh idols made of Plaster of Paris are not to be immersed in Hussain Sagar.
The officials take steps against immersion of the idols from the side of the Tank Bund side into Hussain Sagar. They must be immersed in special tanks and the officials take necessary action in this regard, the Court said.
The High Court asked the Government, GHMC and Police department to implement the orders strictly. After the immersion the related waste has to be removed from the lake and temporary ponds, the HC said. Following corona protocols steps should be taken to avoid pandals on the roads causing traffic problems. The Court also instructed that the officials check sound pollution after 10 pm by stopping cultural activities as part of the Ganesh festival, the court said.

The officials should take measures to conduct immersion in specially made rubber dams as all the idols cannot be dropped into the Hussain Sagar lake, the court said.
Earlier, the court reserved Judgment earlier on the petition to prevent idol immersion in the Tank Bund to check pollution.
Ensure that the less number of public gathered and the Ganesh idols are immersed on the other side of PV Marg, Necklace Road, and Sanjivaiah Park instated.

The court already slammed the state government for failing to take steps on Ganesh festival and mass gathering. The high court instructed that the curbs are to see that public movement be avoided. (Hydnow)
