Hyderabad, Sept.15 (Hydnow): Telangana Assembly Monsoon session likely to come to an end on Wednesday amid corona pandemic as several MLAs and staff tested positive.
Despite the decision to conduct the session for 18 days, the house may wind up on Wednesday Sept 16 itself.
About 52 persons Including Nampally and other MLAs, staff were tested positive for corona virus and the government is in no mood to continue the session amid scare.
The Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has held a BAC meeting and proposed the pruning of Assembly session. The speaker and ruling party members are of the opinion to wind up session due to corona spread. However the congress and Majlis parties sought to continue the same.
While the congress asked for discussion on Krishna river water issues, the Majlis asked to discuss on Hyderabad city problems and other issues. On this the ruling party members preferred to close the session due to corona spread.
Leader of the house K Chandrasekhar Rao is of the opinion to abstain from continuing the session.
The speaker has said that he will announce the decision on Wednesday. He may announce in the house sine die as it passed several key bills, resolutions and completed the process to continue its administration as per Legislature norms. (Hydnow)
