Amaravati, July 15 (Hydnow): The State government today decided to constitute a committee to undertake a study on the formation of the new districts. The state cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of the state approved a proposals to constitute the committee.

The Committee would be headed by the Chief Secretary of the State. The Commissioner of CCLA, the secretaries of GAD (Services), planning, a representative of CMO would be the members of the committee. The secretary of the finance department would act as the convenor of the committee. The CM has asked the committee to submit its report as soon as possible. The new districts would be formed by keeping the existing boundaries of Lok Sabha seats.

The Chief Minister has taken up the task of the creation of the new districts in order to fulfil his election promise. The decision of the state government would increase the total number of the districts from the existing 13 to 25. However the state cabinet also discussed about the possibility of creation of the 26th district. Chief Minister YS Jagan has asked the officials to study on the possibility of the making Araku MP seat info two districts. (Hydnow)
