Agniveer Passing Out Parade held at 1 EME Centre

The Central Parade Ground of 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad wore a spectacular look with traditional military regalia on the occasion of the Passing out Parade (POP) of the Second batch of Agniveers on 03 Oct 2023. The first batch of AVs (177 Agniveers) passed out and stepped into the realm of soldiering on 05 Aug 2023. The Passing out parade of the 2^nd Batch was reviewed by Brigadier Suresh G, Commandant, 1 EME Centre and a total of 235 Agniveers were passed out. The proud parents of Agniveers graced the ceremony.

The Basic Military Training of the Second Batch of Agniveers of Corps of EME for the year 2022-23 commenced on First March 2023 at 1 EME Centre and culminated on 09 May 2023, Thereafter, the Agniveers commenced their Advance Military Training at 1 EME Centre the premier Technical Training Institute for Junior Commissioned Officers/ Other Ranks. The Centre upscaled many training facilities and showcased numerous best practices for other Regimental Centres. The Centre imparted them training in Armoured Fighting Vehicles & Small Arms trades for the Second batch of Agniveers.

The passing out parade, as it is generally called, is the most significant and spectacular event in the life of Agniveer, as it marks their entry into the Indian Army. It also means the end of arduous training and the beginning of a “Life in the Uniform which is Less Ordinary”. Post passing out from 1 EME Centre the Agniveer will report to Field Army units.

During the POP Agniveers were presented medals by Commandant, 1 EME Centre for outstanding performance in Academics, Physical fitness and Overall Best in Merit. He also lauded the Agniveer for their excellent efforts to make the parade absolutely impressive and magnificent. He also exhorted them to dedicate themselves with utmost sincerity and devotion to uphold the honour, safety and integrity of the country.

The Passing out parade was witnessed by Trainees, Instructors, Staff of 1 EME Centre and Parents/ Relatives of Agniveers.
