Advertisements in Broadcast Media Should be Approved in Advance: Deputy DEO Anudeep Durishetti

Hyderabad, October 16: As the Model Code of Conduct for Elections is in force, the advertisements of various political parties on print, electronic, and cable channels should be taken prior approval by MCMC from the date of notification, Deputy DEO, Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetti said.

On Monday, a press conference was held with the election officials in Panwar Hall of the GHMC office.

On this occasion, the Deputy DEO said… As the Election Code is in force, MCMC should take prior permission for advertisements broadcasted in various media such as print, electronic, and cable channels.

He said that as part of the advertisement, there are restrictions related to inappropriate remarks on the country’s sovereignty, religions, personal insults, incitement to violence, and on the legal system.

He said that action will be taken against those who violate these as per the Cable Act.

He said that permission can be obtained within 24 hours from the returning officers of 15 constituencies in the Hyderabad district through the Suvidha Center for meetings, meetings, rallies, loudspeakers, etc.

He said that writing news content in the form of advertisement in the form of advertisement in the form of political parties promoting candidates in paid news through MCMC will be considered as paid news.

He said that notices will be given to the candidate of the concerned party and steps will be taken to register the expenditure in his personal account.

A notice is given to the candidate within 96 hours after it is published or telecast in various media and an explanation is sought if the candidate consents to the advertisement concerned within 48 hours it will be displayed in his personal account.

In case the candidate does not reply, the decision of MCMC will be considered final and will be entered into his personal account.

He said that if the candidate has any objections to the notice received by him, he should file a complaint with the State MCMC within 48 hours, and if it is not resolved there, the Election Commission will resolve the complaint within 96 hours.

As part of MCMC, a special staff and committee will be formed to monitor the advertisements broadcasted on all satellite and cable channels for 24 hours and record them.

He said that the permission of the MCMC must be taken for the advertisement aired on the day before the election and on the polling day.

On this occasion, the Deputy DEO said that before broadcasting the advertisements on print, electronic, and social media, the media houses should check whether the advertisement related to the party and the candidate has been approved by MCMC or not.

He said that the DIPR and DAVP rates given by the Information Department should be followed in relation to advertisement. He said that the expenditure limit of legislators should not exceed 40 lakh rupees.

Hyderabad Additional Collector Madhusudan, Additional Commissioner Election Shankaraiah, Deputy EE Anantham, and others participated in this meeting.
