Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 16 (Hydnow) Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Vishwakarma Scheme with an allocation of Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 15,000 crores for those with traditional skills, Union Minister for Food and Civil supplies Ashwini Kumar Chowby has revealed that the Prime Minister approved the ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme in the Union Cabinet meeting held today to help newly skilled people. The Union Minister said that this scheme will benefit 30 lakh artisans and their families.
The scheme, with a financial outlay of Rs. 13,000 crores for a period of five years till 2028, will cover 18 traditional businesses in the first year. As part of this, the Union Minister announced that a loan of Rs. one lakh will be given. He said that only 5 percent interest will be charged on these loans. The aim is to provide financial support to artisans, fishermen, and bricklayers. Also, the minister revealed that Rs. 57 thousand crores have been allocated under the mobility fund. He said that the Union Cabinet has approved the PM E-Bus service, under which 10 thousand electric buses will be made available to 100 cities and towns. It is known that Modi has announced many schemes for skilled workers, women’s self-help groups, and the urban poor.
The PM in the Union Cabinet meeting today approved the ‘PM Vishwakarma scheme” to support people with traditional skills. Under this scheme, loans up to Rs. 1 lakh will be provided on liberal terms. (Hydnow)
