Unable to repay his debts, a 55-year-old carpenter committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling fan at his residence in Chandrayangutta.
He was found dead by then neighbours who informed the police. According to the police, Mohammed Rashid, a resident of Ghousenagar in Bandlaguda had taken a few hand loans and could not repay it.
Depressed over it and was unable to find any work for the past few days, Rasheed took the extreme step on Friday night.
