Hyderabad/Narayanpet, Aug.19 (Hydnow): In what could be an international acknowledgment of the good work done by TConsult app in offering teleconsultation facility during the Covid times, internationally known Johnson & Johnson have offered a matching grant of $ 3,300 (about Rs 2.4 lakh).

This is for the first time that Telangana got this support from J&J. Health centers (Sub centers, PHC’s, CHC’s) integration and several measures are planned with this support and they will be launched in Narayanpet.
Sundeep Kumar Makthala, Global President of software professionals body Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA), which is offering the TConsult services in Telangana, presented the grant certificate to District Collector Dasari Harichandana. The Collector acknowledged the support of Johnson and Johnson, Tarangini Greater Cincinnati Telugu Association, and select students for furthering the cause of TConsult. She also lauded the efforts of TITA in succeeding to get the grant, which will deepen the activities of TConsult in the district.

TITA has launched TConsult in response to covid and has helped many people get quality medical attention via video conference. This has come handy in rural areas and has saved people from traveling vast distances. So far, it has offered more than 12,000 free consultations.

Seeing the impact being created, US-based gastroenterologist Dileep Barelli has come forward to support TConsult. Dileep, who supervised a project of high school students – Niraj Koneru, Rajiv Junapraju, Vamsi Singadi, Varun Gudla, and Vidhat Vedati- under a Youth Leadership Program, succeeded in getting a matching grant from Johnson and Johnson Caring Crowd Grant.
In addition to this grant, several people in the US, UK, and Australia have been supporting TConsult. Speaking on the occasion, Makthala expressed gratitude to Johnson and Johnson, Tarangini Greater Cincinnati Telugu Association, and associated students for supporting the TConsult. He also put on record the support of NRI medico Dileep and various government officials here in taking the project ahead. (Hydnow)
