Hyderabad, Aug.11 (Hydnow): Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala released directives appointing Ronit Banda as Secretary of TITA sports wing.
Ronit who excelled in sports and education both in India and the United States has vowed to work to promote sporting talent by providing opportunities in Telangana. Ronit, who has worked with IBM and has international expertise, promised to bring together sports and technology to benefits sportspersons.
Ronit hails from undivided Warangal district. After completing B.Tech, he moved to US for employment where he joined IBM. Since he had a keen interest in sports, he started playing American football. He also played some league matches. Later he became captain of the Indian team of American football and led the team till 2015. He has been serving as the quarterback. Ronit’s efforts brought results that India stood at 8th position in the American football World Championship held in Panama. Ronit and the
team is preparing for the 2022 world championship. Since he hails from Telangana and is leading the Indian team of American football, Telangana State Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Srinivas Goud felicitated Ronit at his office in Ravindrabharati for his contribution to the sport.
Speaking on his being appointed as Sports Secretary of TITA, Ronit said that he would strive for the development of American football in Telangana. Having worked with IBM, my qualification of B.Tech and having played American football will surely help me in my efforts to popularise the sport in Telangana.
Ronit said that people working in IT sector have an interest in sports but due to lack of guidance they do not venture into it. We need to focus more on science sports, data gathering and study of data. I will try on working on these aspects in Telangana, Ronit said. Ronit said that the reforms introduced by the Union government in education through NEP will go a long way in developing sports and games. He said that in US, education institutions have a sports period that helps students in all-round development and strikes a fine balance in education and sports. New reforms will introduce such a system and it is a positive sign, he said.
Ronit said that he will try to bring various initiatives on the lines of Digithon based on sports which will focus on physical activity, developing mobile applications to train youngsters. He said that his focus will be on finding the sporting talent in rural youth and encouraging them. For this, we will meet District Collectors and put forward our initiatives, he said. Ronit said that he had also imparted training to youth at Boinapalli playground. (Maxim News)
