Hyderabad, Aug.8 (Hydnow): Excise Minister Srinivas Goud today slammed the Congress for their charges on irrigation projects.
Talking to press persons at Assembly premises here they accused the Congress of lacking any knowledge on irrigation systems like Pothireddypadu, Rayalaseema lift projects and others.
The minister has expressed displeasure that the opposition parties are indulging in wrong campaign and comments on the government. The state government has already appealed to the centre and Krishna board to protect our interests Goud said. We have right on surplus waters and make efforts to get them the minister said.
After state formation the government write to Centre on projects he recalled. He hit out at the opposition parties of doing false campaign on the irrigation systems and development programs. We urged the Supreme Court to stall the irrigation projects in Andhra Pradesh.
Despite Krishna board direction and union water resources ministry asking against the projects, the AP government seems to be going ahead he said. We are fighting at the Court and the centre as well as the board to protect Telangana State water interests the minister said.
The AP cannot go ahead on the projects as it will cause loss to Palamur and Ranga Reddy lift scheme he said. Srinivas Goud expressed hope that the board and centre will protect our interests. (Hydnow)
