Hyderabad, july 4 (Hydnow): TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said state government to sack the engineer in chief of state making him responsible for recent leakage of water from Konda pochamma Sagar canal. He alleged that the state government had not followed quality standards in the construction of kaleswaram lift irrigation project.

He also alleged that the TRS led state government was looting public money in the name of irrigation projects. He said that the soil canals of nagarjuna Sagar irrigation project had also rarely had leakages.

Speaking to media persons along with CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and former minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy, he alleged that the rulers of the state were doing politics by pawning the state for ₹3.5 lakh crore. He said that the contracts of the leaked canals were given to Palair MLA Upender Reddy and MLC Karne Prabhakar. He said that contracts were being given as gifts to all the mlas who have changed the parties.

He alleged that the state government had given ₹10,000 crore worth contracts to Prathima group chairman Srinivas rao, who did not have any kind of the irrigation project before 2014. Vikramarka said that the handing over Konda pochamma Sagar contract was classic example to prove that the state government was gifting the mlas who have joined the ruling TRS party. He alleged that the TRS party leaders were looting the state and added that quid pro quo deals were going in the state . He demanded the state government to order a vigilance inquiry in the issue.
