Amaravathi, June 15 (Hydnow): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy today held a review meeting on the issue of the establishment of steel plant in his native YSR Kadapa district. He asked the officials to sanction Rs.500 crore towards the equity of the state government in the project.
The state industries minister M. Gautam Reddy, the special chief secretary of the industries department of the state Karikala Valavan, and other officials also attended the review meeting. The officials told about the firms that are showing interest to join hands with the state owned AP High Grade Steel Limited organization.
They also revealed the details of the discussions held with companies like Tata Steels, Essar Steel, Hyundai on the establishment of the plant in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Speaking on the occasion, Jagan asked the officials to hold discussions with the companies which have submitted their proposals on the issue. He also asked them to enter into an agreement with the firms that have been selected by them after the discussions within the next two months.
The meeting has decided to establish a township and other infrastructure in the next two years at the proposed plant. The officials told the CM that they had already completed soil testing and geo-technical survey on the issue. (Hydno)
