Sale of Tirupati Laddu prasadam which commenced in Hyderabad on Sunday evoked good response as nearly 55,000 laddus were sold. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) had arranged the sale of laddus at Balaji Bhavan, Himayathnagar from 10 a.m. onwards.
Even before the officials could make arrangements for commencing sale of laddus, serpentine queue of devotees was witnessed at the venue. Unmindful of the summer conditions that prevailed in the morning hours, devotees turned up in large numbers for buying the laddus, which were offered at Rs.25 per laddu.
“The response has been good. Despite the heat in the morning and rain in the afternoon, devotees turned up in large numbers to buy the laddus. Nearly 55,000 laddus have been sold,” said TTD Assistant Executive Officer U Ramesh
There is no limit on the number of laddus a devotee can purchase and officials offered as many laddus as sought by the devotees. However, devotees were requested to come wearing masks and ensure physical distancing at the venue while purchasing the laddu prasadam, he said.
Ramesh informed that another 15,000 laddus will be offered on Monday. “If there is more demand, efforts will be made to arrange for more laddus next week”, he added.
