Telangana BJP state President Bandi Sanjay Kumar said state government to grant ex gratia to those died due to lightning strike during past few days. He said that few farmers in Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Nalgonda who went out to save their paddy from rains died when the lightning hit them.
Offering condolences to the bereaved families, Sanjay said that he prayed for the speedy recovery of those who were injured in these incidents. “State government must immediately announce ex gratia for the deceased. However there is no reaction from the government even after the issue was taken to the notice of the government twice so far,” he said in a state here on Sunday. He said that the state ex gratia must be in addition to the central assistance.He further demanded government to purchase paddy at MSP even with higher moisture percentage as the paddy waiting for procurement out in the open was drenched in the untimely rains. He sought the government to take up estimation of crop loss on war footing so that compensation can be paid at the earliest.
