Hyderabad, Sept 8 (Hydnow):  Sandhya, wife of deceased home guard Ravinder, said that her husband had performed his duties with commitment for 17 years.  She alleged that ASI Narsing Rao and Constable Chandu poured petrol on Ravinder and set him on fire.

she demanded to reveal the CCTV footage related to this.  Sandhy deposed that they unlocked Ravinder’s phone and deleted the data.  It is alleged that she killed her husband only after talking to her.  She demanded action against those responsible for Ravinder’s death.

The family members are alleging that Ravinder was not cowardly enough to commit suicide.  Along with Sandhya, the family members have been protesting at the OP Department of Osmania Hospital since 9 a.m.  Some other home guards supported Ravinder’s wife’s concern.  Police reached the spot and talked to Sandhya.  She did not back down even though the CI asked Osmania to stop the agitation saying that those who come for emergency medical services are facing trouble.  The family members demanded that the CCTV footage of Ravinder should be released.  they decided that the agitation would not stop till then.

In the wake of the death of the home guard, the police have been alerted about the home guards across the state.  None of the home guards are taking steps to support Ravinder’s family.  Higher officials have issued instructions to the CIs to ensure that the home guards are on duty.  It is suggested that home guards who are not on duty must stay in PS.  It is reported that if anyone does not come to duty, they will be fired.  (Hydnow)
