As part of 77th Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) Corps Day celebrated by 1EME Center at Secunderabad, Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh, Commandant, MCEME and Senior Colonel Commandant, Corps of EME, and Brigadier Sandeep Bhalla, Commandant, 1EME Centre, paid homage to martyrs of Corps of EME who laid down their lives to uphold the honour and pride of the country.
The occasion commemorated the soldier craftsman’s solemn pledge to the fallen brethren that the corps will uphold their legacy and bring glory to the country. The ceremony was attended by serving and retired all ranks of the Eagles Fraternity and families, according to a press release.
The Corps of EME also known as ‘Eagles’ finds a special mention in the Armed Forces for providing technical support towards seamless sustenance of equipment and machinery of the Indian Army in addition to their gallant contribution for preserving the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
A special Sainik Sammelan was also held at the centre and the Commandant addressed the gathering of over 2,000 all ranks and civilian defence employees of the Centre, EME Records and EME Depot Battalion, the release added.
