24-Hour Surveillance Teams To Ensure Peaceful Elections: Ronald Rose

Hyderabad, November 04: District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose said that surveillance teams are working to ensure peaceful elections in the Hyderabad district.

Election Expenditure Inspectors, Nodal Officers appointed to the respective departments, Election Nodal Officers, Election Nodal Officers, District Electoral Officer who came to the district on Saturday at GHMC Headquarters, Expenditure Inspectors Subodh Singh IRS (C&CE), Laxmikanta Dasappa IRS (C&CE), Mahesh Jived IRS MH, Meetu Agarwal IRS, Dhananjay Singh IDAS, Mrinal Kumar Das IRS, Arjun Manik IRS, Justin Vedha Muthu explained to IRS.

The District Election Officer explained to the cost inspectors that surveillance teams have been formed to reduce the influence of illegal liquor, cash, and gold on elections, three flying squad teams have been formed for each constituency and a total of 45 teams are working for 24 hours from the notification of the election. He said that three teams have been formed for the SST and VST team constituencies from 3rd November. As a result, 3.45 crore rupees in cash and jewelry were seized by the entire flying squad.

He said that a total of Rs 46.81 crore was seized from the flying squad by the police department. Similarly, a review was conducted with the nodal officers assigned to the GST State Central, Customs, RBI, income tax, SLB Bank, Narcotics, Excise, and Transport Departments and said that illegally flowing cash, gold, alcohol, ganja and intoxicants were seized. He said that 18 integrated check posts have been set up in the city to prevent illegal entry from other districts. It was explained that CC cameras will be installed at the stock room in front of 178 liquor shops in the district to check the sales of liquor shops from time to time from the control room. Besides, GPS system has been set up to monitor the movement of vehicles of Flying Squad, SST, and VST teams, he said.

On this occasion, the nodal officials of the central and state departments appointed for the election explained the measures taken and undertaken by them. District Election Officer Ronald Rose explained that MCMC and MCC control rooms have been set up at GHMC headquarters.

On this occasion, the Election Expenditure Inspectors inspected the MCC Control, Election Helpline 1950 control rooms along with the District Election Officer.

In this background, it was explained that the District Grievance Committee under the chairmanship of the Additional Collector is investigating and releasing the seized amount to the parties which is not related to the candidate from time to time. The total release of the siege so far has been explained.

Expenditure auditors appointed for the respective constituencies, nodal officers of central and state government departments, Hyderabad CP Sandeep Sandilya, Additional CP Vikram Singh Man, District Collector, Deputy DEO Anudeep Durishetti, Additional Collector Madhusudan, Additional Commissioner Shankaraiah and others participated in this meeting.
